ANNUAL REPORT 2019-20
Respected Very Rev. Fr Mathew Vas, Correspondent of St Mary’s Central School, Kinnigoli, and the President of today’s function. Honorable Chief Guest MrsGrettaMoras, Principal of Government P U College, Palimar, honorable Guests of honour, Mr. Roger Pinto, MrsAshalathaKirthiShetty, MrsShailaSequeira, PTA Vice President and Members, Principal, Staff, non-teaching staff, students, parents of our students, Alumni members, Benefactors, well-wishers of our institution, ladies and gentlemen. It is with great joy that I extend a warm and cordial welcome to you and would like to present a glance of the life and activities of St Marys Central School, Kinnigoli.
St Marys Central School is a school of CBSE scheme managedby the Catholic Board of Education of the Diocese of Mangalore. SMCS started in 2012 by Very Rev Fr Alfred John Pinto with the strength of 71 students in the first year with 1st to 5th Standard, has a record strength of 715 students in the academic year 2019-20. The tree which was planted only 8 years ago has grown to its heights with record number of strength.
SMCS brings a ray of hope in spreading LIGHTED TO ENLIGHTEN by molding students right from the beginning and including in them the habit of peaceful co-existence to overcome the hurdles of caste, creed and religion.
Under the patroness of and protection of Our Lady of Immaculate Conception, and the able guidance of the Manager Very Rev. Fr Mathew Vas and the Management team, the school has a great promise for the future. With the committed and tireless efforts of the Principal and the members of the staff, school will be able to reach great heights and establish LIGHTED TO ENLIGHTEN.
FARWELL AND HEARTFELT WELCOME:
After serving for 3 memorable years at St Marys Central School, Kinnigoli Rev. FrSunil Praveen Pinto has been transferred to St Pauls Church Delantabettu as Parish Priest and also Head AMster to Vitla School respectively. Fr Sunil has rendered his service in different capacities for the growth of this institution. St Marys Central School bids adios and remains grateful for his efforts towards the growth of this institution.
We are fortunate to have a new dynamic and energetic Principal in the form of Rev Fr Lancy Joel Saldanha to the prestigious school. After serving 1 year in delanthabettu parish as parish Priest and head master in VitlaSchoolFr Lancyhas been transferred to our school as Principal this June. He is working hard and tirelessly towards the progress of this school.
CBSE BOARD EXAMINATION RESULT:
This year 16 of our studentsfrom 10th standard appeared for the CBSE Board examination and all passed with flying colours.They have proved by securing 100% results that CBSE syllabus is not difficult to study. We appreciate their handwork and we salute the parents of these children for their encouragement.
STAFF AND NON TEACHING STAFF:
We have nearly 30 well dedicated staff and non-teaching staff who work continuously for the all-round growth of students, enhancement of the educational quality and also for the gradation of the school. It’s because of their efforts and hard work we were able to achieve 100%v results in 10th Board examination.
We have 16 sections from 1st to 10th standard. This year as the sections got increased we have welcomed Mrs. Gloria, Miss. Mallika, Mrs. Chaitanya, Mrs. Pearl, Mrs. Reshma, Mrs. Jecintha and Miss. Bhagya to the staff. We extend a warm welcome to these teachers to our school.
CURRICULAR AND CO-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES:
The year 2019-20 was the year with lot of commitment both from teachers and students. There were scholastic activities such as ELOCUTION, STORY TELLING, PARAGRAPH WRITING, HAND WRITING, SPELLING CONTEST, G.K. QUIZ, MENTAL MATH, MEMORY TEST, EXTEMPORE SPEECH, ESSAY WRITING, DECLAMATION CONTEST, SCIENCE MODEL, COMPUTER QUIZ, DRAWING and co-scholastic activities such as ACTION SONG, FANCY DRESS, FLOWER ARRANGEMENT, CHRISTMAS CARD, RANGOLI, SINGING, BEST OUT OF WASTE, COOKING WITHOUT FIRE AND COLLAGE COMPETITIONS conducted for the students. All the students participated in one competition or the other and secured different prizes.
In order to bring out the hidden talents of our students we have various activities for our students. Dance classes, Karate classes, Yoga Classes, Music classes, Abacus classes on Wednesday, Craft on Tuesday. These activities not only helps the students to exhibit their talents but also they their life.
THE ANNUAL SPORTS MEET 2019-20:
The annual sports meet 2019-20 was conducted on Saturday, 23rd November. Mr Joseph Quadras was the Chief Guest of the function. Many of our students participated with great zeal and zest and some were able to win medals. Many of our teachers helped PT teachers Mr Dinesh and MrsChaitanya for the success. School canteen attracted the crowd. PTA members have helped in various capacities.
CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES AND CO-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES:
Our students were smart not only in curricular activities but also they excelled in co-curricular activities.
We have supportive PTA association which is led by Mr.Stphen Mathias as its Vice President, MrsShailaSequeira as Secretary and MrsAnithaDsouza as Treasurer.

We are ever thankful to Most rev Dr. Peter Paul Saldanha the Bishop of Mangalore and Director of CBE and the School Management committee.
We wish to express our gratitude to our dear Correspondent Very Rev. Fr. Mathew Vas for his love and support to the school.
We thank Mrs. ShailaSequeira the Vice President of Kinnigoli Parish for her generous support towards this institution.
Thanks in millions to Mr. Stephen Mathias, the Vice President of PTA and all the PTA members for their ceaseless efforts towards the school development.
Our staff members both teaching and non-teaching deserve a word of appreciation and thanks for their efforts and whole hearted co-operation in molding the future generation and specially today for their support towards annual prize distribution day celebration.
Thanks to all the students from Nursery to High School who have receptive, innovative and bringing laurels to the institutions in various ways. Thank you students for making this day a memorable one.
The parents have supported us in various capacities so that we were able send in all our endeavors a confident and educated batch of students, and also our sponsors as well as well-wishers have lent a supportive hand down through the years. Thanks in millions to all of you.
